Not only that, Australia is also ranked number 2 in the world in Human Development Index, as per the 2014 Human Development Report by the UN Development Program.

The Australian geography is also unique with a vast area of 7617930 sq. Km. The land area is spread 4000 kilometers from East to West, 3200 kilometers from North to South. Though it is a large area, the Population is just 22.7 Million (as of October 2012) and hence is ranked the lowest in Population Density in the world.

With a 36735 kilometer long Coastline, Australia has the World’s largest Coral Reef, The Great Barrier Reef, which is a not only a tourist attraction but also has a rich treasure of marine resources.

With its geographical feature of an island continent, serene coastal lines, mountain ranges, beautiful landscapes, dry deserts in the centre etc. it experiences temperate weather. While Canberra is the capital city of the country, Sydney is ranked the largest city.
