Permanent Visas –Skilled Points Tested
The Australian Department of Immigration uses an Online service termed SkillSelect to manage its intake of skilled migrants based on a points-test process.
There are primarily two types of Permanent residency visas available for skilled migrants under the points-test based SkillSelect system.
Additionally, there are other provisional, temporary work and business visas that are also processed using the SkillSelect process (detailed under relevant heads).
Points can be claimed in SkillSelect based on various factors including
- Age
- Education
- Employment experience
- English language ability
- Australian Qualifications
- Partner skills
- Community language ability
- and some other factors as detailed in the Points Test Calculation portal.
