14. From US Air Force to CEO of RSPCA and Australian citizenship

Tammy Ven Dange is an American who became an Australian citizen and now calls Australia home. Having worked in the US Air Force for four years, she lived in West Africa before being sent to Australia on a diplomatic posting, and fell in love with the country.

Tammy says that as soon as she landed in Australia she felt at home. Since then she has taken Australian citizenship, represented Australia as a member of the Australian national dragon boat team. She is presently the CEO of RSPCA in the Australian capital Territory (ACT).
