Permanent Visa - Skilled Independent Visa (SC 189)
Skilled Independent Visa (Subclass 189) is the primary visa available for skilled workers immigrating to Australia as permanent residents.
This subclass amounts to the highest number of visas granted under the skilled migration (permanent) stream.
It is also the choice visa for applicants who do not have a sponsor by way of an Australian employer, eligible relative or a state/territory government nomination.
Minimum requirements to be eligible for this visa
- Age less than 49 years.
- An occupation in the MLTSSL.
- At least Competent English
- At least 65 points calculated in the points test
