This is a permanent visa available for living and travelling to and from Australia for a period of 5 years.

Available to:

  • a current or expired Australian Permanent visa holder;
  • or an Australian citizen who lost or renounced Australian citizenship.

Main Eligibility requirements:

  • not been absent from Australia for over 5 years in the last 10 years, unless there are compelling circumstances.
  • Spent a total of at least 2 years in the last 5 years in Australia as a permanent resident or citizen

Applicants can be in or outside Australia at the time of application.

Applicants who may not meet the requirements for this visa can opt to apply for a shorter duration SC 157 – Three month resident return visa
