Business Talent (SC 132) – Permanent Residency Visa
A Permanent Residency Visa available for high-calibre Business persons seeking to establish or develop an existing business in Australia.
2 streams under this visa category
- Significant Business History Stream– For successful business owners (or part-owners) who want to conduct business in Australia,
- and have net personal and business assets worth at least A$ 1.5 million
- and own (or part-own) businesses with minimum annual turnover of A$ 3.0 million
- Venture Capital or Entrepreneur Stream– For people who are able to obtain venture capital funding from a member of the Australian Venture Capital Association Limited (AVCAL)
- and have obtained at least A$ 1.0 million in venture capital funding.
What are the stages of this visa?
Stage 1 | Lodge a SkillSelect Expression of Interest (EOI) |

Stage 3 | Receive an invitation to apply, and lodge a visa within 60 days |
Stage 4 | All applicants including family members to meet health and character requirements |

Summary description of requirements:
Significant Business History Stream
Applicant and their partner must:
- hold ownership interest in business(es) with net business assets more than A$ 400,000 OR 10% shareholding in a publically listed company.
- Net business and personal assets more than A$ 1.5 million
- Annual business turnover of more than A$ 3.0 million
- Business ownership of at least:
- 51% in a business with an annual turnover less than A$ 400,000
- OR, 30% in a business with an annual turnover more than A$ 400,000
- OR, 10% shareholding in a publicly listed company
Venture Capital Entrepreneur Stream
Applicant must demonstrate
- Receiving at least A$ 1.0 million in funding from a Venture capital firm which is a member of AVCAL
- Fund must be for the start-up, product development or business development of a promising high-value business idea.
- A formal agreement must exist with the venture capital firm for the funding.
