Temporary Visa – Investment Retirement (SC 405)
A Temporary Resident Visa for wealthy Retirees to live in Australia.
The visa does not lead to Australian Permanent residency or citizenship, but can be renewed for periods of 4 years.
Visa requirements
- Age over 55 years.
- No dependents – other than partner.
- Sponsored by an Australian State/Territory government agency.
- Must have annual net income of A$ 65,000 per annum (or A$ 50,000 pa if living in regional Australia) from pensions, investment returns etc.
- Make and hold a designated investment in Australia of A$ 750,000
(or A$ 500,000 if living in regional Australia) during the period of the visa. - Maintain comprehensive Health Insurance.
Visa Holders
- Work in Australia for up to 40 hours per fortnight
- Can travel, to and fro from Australia during the period of visa
- Partner too can hold this visa without meeting any additional requirement
- Can renew visa every 4 years as long as investment and income criteria are met.
- Subsequent Investment retirement visas have a lower investment threshold of A$ 500,000 (or A$ 250,000 in regional Australia)
