Student Visa (SC 500) – Higher Education Sector
This visa enables a student enrolled to pursue higher education in Australia which may lead to one of the following qualifications:
- Bachelor degree or associate degree
- Master degree by coursework
- Graduate Certificate or Diploma
- Higher Education Diploma or Advanced Diploma
The above courses are offered by Australian Universities, colleges or institutions of higher learning registered under CRICOS.
Accompanying family members can hold a SC 500 visa to travel and live in Australia. Both the primary visa holders and their family members may have limited work rights while in Australia. School age children accompanying a student visa holder must be enrolled for study in Australia.

- Have adequate Health Insurance cover while in Australia for all applicants.
- Meet additional requirements as per course enrolled.
