Including Family Members

All Australian Permanent residency visa and almost all Temporary visas allow for the applicant to include their immediate family members as secondary applicants in their application.

These include:

  • Applicant’s partner (spouse or de facto)

  • Applicant’s dependent children (including partner’s dependent children)

  • Other dependent relatives.

An applicant can include any of the above family members into their application at a later date before the application is finalized.

Once an application for a Permanent residency is finalized, an applicant may have to apply for an appropriate family visa to bring their family members to Australia.

However, most temporary visas allow for a family member to apply for another visa subsequently, even if they were not included in the original application.

Please contact eMA by purchasing a MAP for other specific advice for applying for a family visa.
